Event Decription:
It's a standard 2-man/10-ball tournament.
This might switch to a single-elimination tournament if there are 10 or more teams.
In addition, time permitting,
we will be running
1-man/5-ball (1/5) challenge matches after the 2/10 tournament is done. More about 1-man/5-ball.
"Challenge matches" are done in this way: you look at someone, say something like, "You and me?" and away you go.
Times:
Sign-in: 8:45am - 9:15am
Players meeting: 9:15am - 9:30am
First match: 9:45am - 10:00am
Prizes for 1st place in the 2/10 tournament:
- Custom high-quality T-shirts printed with the winners' names and tournament date and location.
- (Eight or more teams attending adds this prize.) A $15 gift card for one of several places (Amazon, iTunes or Starbucks)).
- The tournament entry fee (the $12 team fee) is waived at the next 2/10 tournament attended.
Playing fees:
The usual Gator field fee for you, plus $12 per team.
Notes:
- This can be a field-paint-only or a BYO event for each player; your choice determines your field fee. Note: a team can usually split a bag of paint.
- Play with whatever airgun (marker) you are comfortable with there is no gun restriction.
- Each team will play at least 6 games; most teams will play many more.
- The format for the preliminary matches lets teams play often and still have recovery time between matches: one set is played to 3 points (winning a game is 1 point; winning 3 points [games] wins the set) against each team until you reach the finals. A match in the finals is the best of 7 points (games).
