Tournament

15 April 2012 (Sunday)

Although this tournament date has passed, the data continues to be displayed for anyone who wishes to see it.

Location:
Paintball Partyz
in Punta Gorda, FL

Event Decription:
First, there will be a woodsball 2-man/10-ball tournament. This will be the first woodsball version of the 2/10 format. It has been on the wish-list of things to try out since the day that 2/10 was first dreamed about, so here it is!

The rules for 2/10 will be the same as they are described in the "Overview/Rules" document (use the link above), except that the playing area's size might be slightly larger since nature will be the designer of the field layout.

Also, there will be recball available starting around 10am or 10:30am (see below).

In addition, time permitting, we will be running
1-man/5-ball (1/5) Challenge matches or possibly a 1/5 tournament. If you are interested in playing this variation of 2/10, e-mail us (info@210Paintball.com).
More about 1-man/5-ball.
"Challenge matches" are done in this way: you look at someone, say something like, "You and me?" and away you go.

Additional data about this event

The start time will be 8am. By start, we mean signing in and the players' meeting where a we will go over a couple of the rules (just to make sure that everyone is clear about them) and people can ask questions about the 2/10 format. This is expected to start at 8:30am and last about 15-20 minutes. The first match is scheduled to be played at 9am.

Next, there will be recball available starting around 10am or 10:30am. This is primarily for those people who "finish" 2/10 early (are amongst the earlier teams eliminated); there is no need to waste a perfectly good paintball field, so go enjoy the rest of the day (or bounce back and forth between watching the 2/10 matches and playing woodsball).

About paint: It is hightly recommended that you bring your own high-end paint for use in the tournament. There will be paint availalbe at the field ($10 for a bag or $35 for a case), but you will probably want to shoot a higher quality paint in the tournament.

Times:
Sign-in: 8:00am - 8:45am

Notes:

  • This is a BYOP event. Paint can also be purchased at the field.
  • Each team will play at least 6 games – most will play many more.
  • Play with whatever airgun (marker) you are comfortable with — there is no gun restriction.
  • The format for the preliminary matches lets teams play often and still have recovery time between matches: one set is played to 3 points (winning a game is 1 point; winning 3 points [games] wins the set) against each team until you reach the finals. A match in the finals is the best of 3 sets against the other team (winning 2 out of three sets).
